Overview
The NCDAF team is an all-volunteer activist group. We were formed by John Cribari in the summer of 2014. Motivated by Natalie’s inspirational poems – (see heavenawaits.org for her work) which have impacted many. We began brainstorming and discussing mobilizing as an organized group to do something. We began by meeting in the function room of the Sons & Daughters of Italy in Harrisburg. Our first event in 2014-2015 (at the SADOI Club) was our initial attempt to bring focus to the heroin epidemic, and the rising death toll in our community. We have lost 6 children of our own and are motivated by doing everything we can to stop the current cycle of addiction & death in our community. By partnering with other addiction activists, Healthcare advocates, our local legislators, we believe we can have an impact on all aspects of OUD (Opioid Use Disorder) reform.
Our Mission
To foster awareness on all aspects of OUD, intervention and recovery assistance to the community.
To continually educate and inform the community on their Healthcare rights under the law, in regards to recovery services and treatment available.
To educate and inform the community on legislation recently passed that impact access to services, and to clearly communicate the rights as a community member and a consumer.
To contribute resources to private or public drug awareness initiatives and assist them with financial funding that aligns with the goals and objectives of NCDAF
